A man from the region was killed in a single-vehicle crash after his SUV veered off the roadway, hit a pole, and rolled over. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, in the Village of Monticello on Route 17B across from the Monticello Raceway. According to Lt. Two inmates at a Hudson Valley jail have been charged with new crimes while behind bars. Dutchess County residents William Green Jr., age 30, of Poughkeepsie, and Craig Albrecht, age 41, of East Fishkill, were charged on Wednesday, May 1. According to Capt. Man Dies At Hospital After Blaze At Home In Region
A man died at a hospital following a fire at a residence in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Tuesday, May 7 in Ossining in the area of Liberty Street and Spring Street, where a multi-floor residence went up in flames, according to Ossining Police. Arriving fire crews from Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson soon began working to put the blaze out. A 39-year-old Hudson Valley man was struck and killed by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while standing on a roadway in Connecticut. The crash occurred in Hartford County around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, on I-91 north of the Exit 46 on-ramp in Enfield. According to the Connecticut State Police, Dutchess County resident TJ Jennings of Hopewell Junction was standing in the highway's right lane when struck by the truck. Five Hudson Valley teens have been charged with hate crimes for allegedly yelling anti-Semitic slurs and shooting a pellet gun at individuals. Driver Dies In Fiery Crash On I-84 In Region
A person was killed in a fiery crash on a busy Hudson Valley highway, police announced. The incident happened in Putnam County on Monday, May 6, around 7:15 p.m., when a vehicle traveling on I-84 in Kent left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. 90 Cats Rescued From 'Deplorable' Home In Region
Police are investigating after 90 cats were in poor health and deplorable living conditions in a home in the region. Dutchess County Sheriff's Office members discovered the cats at a home in Dover on Saturday, May 4. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the home for a report of animal cruelty.
