The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating its second deadly explosion in two days. The incident on Continental Court in South River was reported just after 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. UPDATE: William Koerner has been successfully located, South Brunswick police said on Friday afternoon, May 3. ORIGINAL STORY: South Brunswick Police Department are investigating a missing person. William Koerner was last seen walking toward McDonald's on Route 1 on Wednesday, May 1, at 9:30 p.m. Police did not release his age. He was last seen wearing a white crewneck sweatshirt, a black jacket, and grey work pants, police said. Jersey Shore City's First Female Police Chief Sworn Into New Role
A new police chief in Cape May County is making history in her city. Chief Katherine Madden was sworn into her new role with the North Wildwood Police Department on Wednesday, May 1. She's the city's first female police chief and the 14th in the city's history. The city said Chief Madden is a lifelong North Wildwood resident and is the daughter of retired sergeant Thomas Flounders. A couple from Central New York was indicted for murder in the killing of an Atlantic City man, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 24-year-old Howard Griswold of Baldwinsville, New York, and 28-year-old Melissa Tikarem of Manlius, New York, on Thursday, May 2 for several charges, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Toms River, authorities said. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Fugitive Task Force Unit is seeking the public's help in finding a 43-year-old man wanted for abusing a child. Joseph Zuziela, Jr. is 5'9", 175 lbs, with black hair and hazel eyes, authorities said. He has tattoos on his left and right arm, authorities said. A man was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his pickup in Ocean County, authorities said. Berkeley Township police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Dover Road near the Lacey Township border at around 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the department said in a news release. A fiery explosion left one woman dead and four others hurt at a manufacturing company in Old Bridge on Wednesday, May 1, authorities said. A Somers Point couple admitted to using their teen son to sell marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms through an unlicensed business promoted on Facebook, authorities said.
