Police: Stamford Resident Hit Woman In Face With Bottle After Gender Insult
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A dispute early Monday that began when a woman insulted a man who identifies as a woman and ended with his arrest and her headed to the hospital with facial injuries, Stamford police said.
Ricardo Sambrano, 23, of 319 Greenwich Ave., Stamford, who identifies as a woman and gave police the name of Elisa, was charged with second-degree assault, police said.
The incident began when officers were called to 319 Greenwich Ave. at 12:30 a.m. after a report of a fight, police said.

Greenwich Police Charge Stamford Woman With Embezzling $12,000
GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Stamford woman was accused of embezzling more than $12,000 from a Melrose Avenue company during a seven-month period last year, Greenwich Police said.
Diane Zinicola, 53, of 59 Woodway Road, Apt. 3, made 25 unauthorized wire transactions during that span of time, police said.
An arrest warrant was issued on Sept. 3.
Zinicola turned herself in to Greenwich Police on Tuesday after learning of the warrant for her arrest.
She was charged with first-degree forgery, second-degree larceny, fourth-degree criminal attempt at larceny and sixth-degree larceny.
