The final Sunday of summer will be a gray and damp one, but the good news is some much-needed rain will be arriving in the area.
Isolated morning showers will be followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The high temperature will climb into the low 80s.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms continues in the evening, with showers and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.
There will be more showers and possibly a thunderstorm on Monday, with heavy rain at times during the day. The high temperature will be near 80.
Parts of the area could see as much as 2 inches of rain from the system before skies clear early Tuesday morning.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and warm with a high around 83 degrees.
