Yorktown High Throws 1940s Nightclub-Themed Dance

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown High School gym will be transformed into a 1940s nightclub -- and the community is invited to it.

It will take place Saturday.

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a one-hour swing dance lesson by a professional dance studio. There will be live music and dancing from 8-10:30 p.m.

The nightclub will be complete with a bandstand, dance floor, linen-clad tables and refreshments.

The YHS Concert Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble will perform swing-era music. The evening will begin with lessons by some dancing professionals. 

This has become an annual Yorktown tradition. 

Light refreshments will be served, and swing-era attire is encouraged. 

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for nonband students and senior citizens.
