Killian is known for her involvement in Westchester anti-drug coalitions, and has worked to get local teenagers off drugs and educate all youths on the dangers of harmful substances. Killian co-founded Rye Action for Children and Teens, or RyeACT, as a community organization designed to educate teenagers and their parents about the dangers of drug use. Through support, education and outreach, she hopes to end at the pattern of shattered lives and families that abuse leaves behind.

That's why Killian is advocating a targeted, digital drug education campaign in New York, using already allocated tax dollars currently being spent on what she feels is the state’s "failed" Start UP NY campaign. To date, Start UP has spent $53 million on TV ads and created just 408 jobs in its three years.

Putting money to better use is at the heart of her campaign, and Killian believes spreading drug abuse information and messaging in a way parents and children can access and understand is incredibly important.
