The campaign for New York state's 247 Democratic delegates and 95 Republican delegates has been in full swing for three weeks, with fellow New Yorkers Hillary Clinton of Chappaqua and Donald Trump of Manhattan and Bedford leading their respective political parties in polling and delegate vote totals less than seven months before the November election.

A court hearing was set for Tuesday morning in a lawsuit filed by more than 200 voters who said their registration was illegally "purged" without their knowledge, disenfranchising them from voting in the New York Democratic Party primary. Voters were being encouraged by Election Justice USA to join the legal action if they are turned away from their legal polling places.

Clinton made a surprise visit on Sunday to Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon as reported here by Daily Voice.

Meanwhile, Trump spoke about Second Amendment rights to own firearms at a rally in Poughkeepsie and former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was in White Plains on Sunday stumping for Clinton and stronger gun control. Giffords of Arizona was gravely injured by a gunman.

Clinton kicked off her New York primary campaign at Purchase College on March 31 speaking out strongly in favor of tougher gun control laws.

Clinton, a former New York senator, First Lady and Secretary of State, faces Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in Tuesday's primary. Sanders has enjoyed increased support during recent primary elections, especially among first-time voters including college students.

All five remaining candidates made the most of the hours leading up to primary day.

Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich campaigned upstate Monday while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was in New York City.

Trump, who owns Trump Tower in Manhattan as well as an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
