Donald Trump, George Pataki Exchange Heated Jabs In New Twitter War

Peekskill native and Garrison resident George Pataki and Bedford estate owner Donald Trump have dropped the gloves once again in a brand-new Twitter war leading up to Wednesday's Republican Presidential debates in California.

The latest round began Sunday morning when Pataki, the former Peekskill mayor and New York governor, posted a Tweet that he would not vote for the real estate mogul and reality TV celebrity even if Trump wins the party's nomination.

"Let me be very plain, I'm not going to vote for @RealDonaldTrump," @Governor Pataki posted Sunday at around 8:30 a.m. "He is unfit to be president."

With those comments, Pataki became the first Republican candidate to say he will not support the nominee, despite signing a pledge all the candidates did, to do so.

Trump quickly responded, voicing objection to the fact Pataki was invited to the first of Wednesday's two debates, the 6 p.m. session featuring the final four candidates who placed in various polls.

Pataki will be joined in the earlier debate by Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham.

"Why is someone like George Pataki, who did a terrible job as Governor of N.Y. and registers ZERO in the polls, allowed on the debate stage?" @realDonaldTrump responded.

Pataki quickly responded to that Tweet with another zinger.

"Why is a serially bankrupt @RealDonaldTrump who insults Mexicans, Women, Blacks, Jews & POW's on #2016 debate stage?" Pataki posted.

Trump will be center stage at the prime time 8 p.m. debate, flanked by Ben Carson, Jeb Bush and eight other leading contenders.

The first Twitter war between Pataki and Trump came two months ago when Pataki denounced Trump's recent controversial comments about Mexican immigrants. For Trump's response, check the original Daily Voice report here.
