I'd write in a candidate
I wouldn't vote
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton, a Chappaqua resident, for the Democratic nomination for president Tuesday at a rally in New Hampshire.
“I intend to do everything I can to make certain that she will be the next president of the United States," Sanders said. “I have come here to make it as clear as possible why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president.”
The two candidates waged a competitive battle for the nomination. Although Clinton essentially wrapped up the nomination weeks ago, Sanders was slow to come around and endorse her, wanting her to adopt his more progressive positions.
"Thank you for your endorsement but more important thank you for your lifetime of fighting injustice," Clinton said to Sanders. "I am proud to be fighting alongside you because my friends this is a time for all of us to stand together."
Clinton has also been endorsed by President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Elizabeth Warren. She will be formally nominated at the Democratic National Convention in two weeks in Philadelphia.
