Woman Trapped Under Mixing Equipment Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. – A 26-year-old woman was rescued Friday, Feb. 12, after being stuck under a “piece of mixing equipment” that fell on her while she was working in a Main Street business, according to police.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was said to have been stuck for several hours before she could reach a telephone to call for help. When police received the call about 5 a.m., they notified the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services and the Armonk Fire Department Ambulance, who responded to free the woman.

While police provided no description of the woman’s injuries, the equipment was said to have fallen on her foot, leaving her alert and conscious during the ordeal.

  • A suspicious man was seen about 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 at a home on Round Hill Road, police said. The caller to investigators that the man pulled in her driveway and knocked on her door saying he had a flat tire and would be leaving his car in the driveway. When the woman told the man she would call police, he told her not to do so and then drove off in an unknown direction, police said. The man was described as “young” with blond/red hair. He stands between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. There was no description of his clothing available.
  • Police responded to a North Broadway gas station about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 after receiving reports that a woman believed to be about 75-80 years old had pumped her gas and then left without paying, according to authorities. The caller reported that the pump’s credit card reader was broken and that she may have left without realizing that she hasn’t paid. Police received a second, similar complaint at the gas station later in the day. The gas station employee said he would take steps to avoid confusion at the broken pump.
  • Police responded to a Bedford Road home about 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 12 after the homeowner saw a “sick raccoon” on the property, according to authorities. Two officers arrived to the home and “dispatched” the raccoon.
