A 34-year-old woman was hit and killed by a Grand Central-bound Metro-North New Haven line train east of Milford Station.

The incident took place around 9 p.m. Thursday, said Aaron Donovan, an MTA spokesman.

According to Donovan, the department is waiting to release the woman's name pending notification of next of kin.

The incident caused delays, but MTA officials don't believe any criminal activity was involved.
