Two-Car Collision Leaves Three Injured On I-684 In North Castle

A 5-year-old was one of three people treated for non-life-threatening injuries on Monday morning following a two-car crash on I-684 in North Castle., state police said on Tuesday.

Police announced the conclusion of the investigation into the collision, which sent 55-year-old Joseph Gibbons of Pawling, 27-year-old New York City resident David Martinez and his 5-year-old passenger to the Westchester Medical Center.

According to police, shortly before 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 police were dispatched to the southbound lanes on the interstate, near mile post marker 10.1. The investigation revealed that Gibbons was traveling southbound when he was sideswiped by Martinez. Gibbons’ vehicle then exited the roadway and overturned, while Martinez’s vehicle continued into the median, coming to a rest after striking a tree.

All three were transported by the Armonk Volunteer Fire Department to the Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released.
