A suspicious vehicle that pulled into a North Castle driveway before taking off led to police intervention.

The North Castle Police Department received a report shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, from a man who stated that his wife is at their Bedford Road home, and a suspicious van had pulled into the driveway, occupied by an African American and Hispanic man.

Police said that they were told that the two men exited the vehicle, looked around, and proceeded to take off from the location. Investigators were provided with a license plate number, which was “not on file.” No further description of the men or the vehicle was provided.

Police canvassed the area in search of the vehicle, but were unable to locate it, or the suspects.

Other items on the North Castle Police Department blotter from Friday, July 13 through Thursday, July 19 include:

  • On Tuesday, July 17, officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Bedford-Banksville Road at approximately 4:15, where there was a report of a dispute. Police said that it was unclear if the altercation was physical, due to a language barrier. Upon arrival, investigators determined that the incident was only verbal in nature over unpaid wages and the situation was settled.
  • That same day, an employee at Stop and Shop on North Broadway reported that a man was at the store, threatening employees for an undisclosed reason. Police described the man as an African American in his 20s, wearing a blue shirt. Upon arrival, officers found that the man had left the store and a canvas of the area did not lead to his apprehension.
  • An administrator at the Jennie Clarkson campus went into work to find that there had been computer equipment allegedly stolen.
