The disappearance of Applebaum, a 21-year-old Armonk man, was reported on Monday at around 9:40 p.m., police said. Applebaum was last seen that day at 9:50 a.m. and was leaving his home, police stated previously.
North Castle Police also noted that there is a search involving several agencies, adding that New Castle is the "lead agency."
A prayer vigil has been scheduled for Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Armonk's Wampus Brook Park, according to an announcement from officials at Congregation B'nai Yisrael.
"Our presence will be of great support to Ed and Shari Applebaum, and to their children, Max and Hannah, in the search for their son and brother," the synagogue's statement reads.
