Police said they received a report from a resident that someone had stolen cash from their property on Thursday, Dec. 24. The resident reported they had left cash in an envelope that was attached to their garbage cans as a holiday tip for sanitation workers, police said.
After an investigation, police charged Fay with one count of petit larceny. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Jan. 12.
