All hands were on deck after a report of “explosion-type sounds” near a popular Westchester ice cream shop.

The Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department received reports of unknown explosion-type sounds near The Blue Pig on Maple Street on Tuesday night, prompting a full department response from firefighters.

Officials said that there were multiple reports of similar occurrences recently in the area, but the source of the sounds remains unknown. Fire personnel - who arrived just minutes after being dispatched - canvassed the building itself and the neighborhood, without finding the source of the explosions.

The call to The Blue Pig was the fourth emergency call for volunteer firefighters on Tuesday.

According to fire officials, no immediate hazards were found. Anyone who sees or hears anything similar in the area, or who may know the source of the explosions, has been asked to contact the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department by calling (914) 271-2693 or 9-1-1.
