A 16-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a vehicle at a busy intersection in Northern Westchester on Sunday.

Just before 4:30 p.m., the North Castle Police Department responded to 375 Main St. in Armonk on E-911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found the girl lying in the roadway approximately 90 feet south of the intersection of Main Street and Bedford Road, according to North Castle Police.

Responding officers and members of the Armonk Fire Department immediately began to render aid to the pedestrian, who was subsequently transported to Westchester Medical Center.

The vehicle operator, identified as 67-year-old Leonid Lamper, remained on scene and cooperated with the police officers’ investigation.

Main Street south of Bedford Road was closed to traffic for several hours while the North Castle Police Accident Investigation Team conducted an investigation.

No charges have been filed against any involved parties at this time, North Castle Police said, noting the investigation is ongoing.
