A 71-year-old music teacher in Westchester has been arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Harrison Police.
James Pyle was arrested Friday following an investigation into allegations made by a parent of at Parson Memorial Elementary School student, the police said.
Police said the Harrison School District has fully cooperated with the investigation, and Pyle has been administratively reassigned to non-teaching duties pending the outcome of the case.
According to News 12 Westchester , the longtime teacher allegedly pushed a 10-year-old student under a desk following a confrontation.
An email went out to parents Friday alerting them that Pyle was arrested "based on an allegation made by a parent of a Parsons student."
Police did not comment, saying the event is still under investigation. He is due back in court March 6 in Harrison.
