The department store chain has said the breach may have an impact on customers who made credit or debit card purchases at a Target store between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, ABC New York reported.
Target has Westchester locations in Mount Kisco, Mount Vernon and White Plains.
Target released a statement on Thursday, Dec. 19 stating that the corporation is working with legal authorities and that the issue has been identified and resolved.
“Target’s first priority is preserving the trust of our guests and we have moved swiftly to address this issue, so guests can shop with confidence. We regret any inconvenience this may cause,” Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Target said in a statement. “We take this matter very seriously and are working with law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.”
Target recommends customers that may have had information compromised keep a close watch on bank and credit card statements.
