State Police are on the hunt for a 46-year-old Hudson Valley man known to frequent Westchester who is wanted for defrauding Dutchess County residents of nearly $100,000.
The New York State Police Department issued an alert on Wednesday regarding John Nemec III, who is wanted by the Town of Beekman Justice Court for a charge of second-degree grand larceny following fraud complaints reported in May 2014.
It is alleged that Nemec defrauded local residents out of more than $79,000.
Police said that Nemec is known to frequent Yonkers, though his last known address was reportedly in Dutchess.
Nemec has been described as a 5-foot-7 white male weighing approximately 130 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who knows of his whereabouts or who may spot Nemec has been asked to contact state police in Poughkeepsie by calling (845) 677-7300 or emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov.
