You should leave the unpacking and cleaning until you have had a good night sleep. Instead enjoy your first night in your new home. As part of your planning, decide what you will need for that first night in your new home and set them aside in a box. Be sure to mark the box clearly. If you can, try and keep this box with you.

Be sure to leave plates and cutlery handy so that you have something to eat off of, especially if you opt for take out. When packing, also keep some cereal bars handy for the next morning's unloading. Taking small steps like setting up your coffee maker and having tea at the ready can make the first morning hours memorable rather than stressful. Above all, don’t forget some bubbly to celebrate.
