"New York's thriving craft beverage industry continues to grow, create jobs and bolster local economies in every corner of this state," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. "This administration has cut red tape and eased regulations that have helped these farm breweries expand while strengthening the state’s agriculture and tourism industries."

The expansion follows the implementation of the governor's farm brewery law, which includes an exemption on brand label registration fees for small brewers and created a new license for brewers using ingredients grown in New York.

New York also houses 133 microbreweries and 39 restaurant breweries. Four years ago, the state was home to just 40 and 10 such breweries, respectively.

According to Cuomo, the craft beer industry accounts for 6,552 jobs and supports another 3,814 in related industries.
