Bankruptcy Court Approves Sale Of 95 A&P Stores To Acme, Stop & Shop

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The sale of 95 A&P-owned stores to Acme and Stop & Shop was approved Monday by a bankruptcy court in White Plains.

The sale includes 71 stores to Acme for $246 million and 24 to Stop & Shop for $124 million. 

Acme and Stop & Shop expect labor agreements will be reached with the union and more than 10,750 workers will retain their jobs.
