Hudson Valley residents didn't have a white Christmas, but a white New Year's Eve could be coming.
Following a mostly cloudy day Saturday with a high temperature in the upper 30s, there is a chance of snow showers before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers as 2016 becomes 2017, between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m, followed by a slight chance of snow showers after 2 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The overnight low will be around the freezing mark, but wind gusts as high as 34 mph will make it feel colder.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for some areas north of I-90 for later Saturday into the evening, where several inches of accumulation are expected.
The outlook for New Year's Day in the Hudson Valley calls for sunny skies and a high in the mid-40s.
