Snow Possible In Armonk As Alberta Clipper System Arrives

Think indoors this weekend as the weather outside turns downright wintry as an Alberta Clipper system originating in Canada will deliver a round of snow and sharply colder conditions.

The National Weather Service said residents should also be prepared for high winds with a high wind warning in effect from midnight Sunday until 2 p.m. Sunday.

Residents can expect winds from the West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

Those winds could result in downed power lines and trees that could lead to power outages and difficulty driving.

Saturday : Rain, especially during the morning, with showers at times during the afternoon and evening and a high between 55 and 57 degrees. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday night: A chance of rain showers before 2 a.m., then snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around the freezing mark. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday: A chance of snow showers before 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Windy, with a northwest wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Monday : A chance of snow before 11 a.m., then rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
