Heavy rain will arrive in the area just as Hudson Valley residents are getting set for the start of the Memorial Day weekend.
The rain is expected to come in the predawn hours Thursday morning and become heavy at times, with thunderstorms possible through the evening on a raw day that will be much cooler with a high temperature in the mid- to upper-50s.
Showers will linger Friday during a mostly cloudy day with a high in the mid-60s.
The best day of Memorial Day weekend will be Saturday, with partly sunny skies and temperatures a bit warmer, with a high near 70.
Sunday will be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of showers and a high in the low-60s.
Monday will again be cloudy, with a chance of a thunderstorm, and a high struggling to reach 60 degrees.
