Light snow expected to start overnight could impact the Monday morning commute with slick travel conditions on untreated surfaces, especially in Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, which is covered by a Hazardous Weather Statement issued Sunday morning by the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of freezing rain and snow between 9 p.m. and midnight, with one or more periods of snow likely after midnight until 9 a.m. followed by a chance of rain between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as the high temperature climbs to around 44 degrees.

Snow accumulations of a half inch are possible in the overnight hours and again prior to 9 a.m., with no more than an inch of accumulation total expected from this system in Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland. About a half inch of accumulation is possible in Southern Westchester.

Another system will bring rain Tuesday night to Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, but it expected to be snow farther north in Dutchess County that could impact the Wednesday morning commute there, according to the National Weather Service.

Westchester, Putnam and Rockland could see a wintry mix or scattered flurries Thursday night into Friday morning.
