Light winds and abundant moisture at the surface has resulted in the formation of fog, the advisory says. The conditions are expected to persist overnight with temperatures forecast to drop to or below the freezing mark.

This will create areas of black ice on any untreated wet surfaces.

Those either on the road or out and about walking should exercise caution.

The overnight low is expected to be around 30 degrees.

Christmas Day will be a bright, sunny day with the high reaching 45 degrees, but wind-chill values will be between 25 and 35 early in the day.
