Frigid air from the Arctic will be arriving in the Hudson Valley just as the new week starts, bringing with it a deep dip in temperatures and a chance of snow over the course of several days, starting Monday.

Sunday will be a sunny day with a high in the low 40s, but the wind-chill factor will make it feel more like 25 to 35 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance of showers and light snow after midnight and through around 10 a.m. Monday, followed by a chance of rain as temperatures warm up through the early afternoon before the clouds break for partly sunny skies. Monday's high will be around 45.

After a partly cloudy day Tuesday with a high in the mid 40s, there is a chance of rain and snow both Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Areas farther north are more likely to see snow and/or a wintry mix.

The high temperature both Tuesday and Wednesday will around 45.

After the chance of an icy mix Friday morning, the rest of the day will be partly sunny with the high temperature struggling to reach 40.

More arctic blasts are likely to follow the following week with more opportunities for snow possible in the area.
