WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Saw Mill River Road and Lawrence Street should be re-opened at approximately 7 p.m. Friday after being closed since the early morning due to a water main break and partial road collapse.

Greenburgh Police made the announcement of the scheduled reopening just before 4:30 p.m.

Original report:

A stretch of Saw Mill River Road remains closed in Greenburgh after a water main break and partial street collapse at Lawrence Street.

A traffic alert was issued by the Town of Greenburgh Police Department alerting motorists that Saw Mill River Road will be closed from the New York State Thruway entrance ramp in Ardsley to Jackson Avenue in Hastings.

Lawrence Street also remains closed as crews contend with the water main break. Roadways are expected to be reopened at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
