Route 22 Stretch Closing Due To Nearby Renovations

WESCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Commuters should take note that, in the coming weeks, the New York State Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Westchester County DOT, will be starting repairs to the bridge over the northbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway Access Road.

Lane closures are expected when bridge construction begins on Route 22 connecting with the Bronx River Parkway.

In order to make the repairs, DOT will close lanes on NY Route 22 in the area between the BRP Access Road and Hillandale Avenue in North White Plains.

The barriers and signs will be in place directing drivers until the repairs to the bridge are completed. Currently, there is no estimate as to when these repairs will be completed.

The repair work will also require the closure of the Bronx River Parkway Access Road at some point in the future.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area, and to use alternate routes when practical.
