Motorists traveling on the Saw Mill River Parkway in the middle of this week may see delays as road closures are expected to begin on Wednesday as the county continues work on the Ashford Avenue Project.
Beginning on the evening of Wednesday, May 31, and continuing through the following morning, closures are expected on the parkway between exit 16 (Lawrence Street) and exit 21 (Route 119).
Starting at 10 p.m., northbound lanes will be completely closed down, ending at 6 a.m. From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., The left southbound lane will be closed between exit 17 (Ashford Avenue) and exit 16. Officials noted that there will also be five 15 to 20 minute stoppages southbound overnight.
There will be a detour posted for northbound motorists, who can expect delays.
