Westchester's Jamie Loeb Loses In First Round At US Open

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Jamie Loeb, an Ossining resident, was defeated in the first round of the US Open on Tuesday.

Loeb lost to 4th seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. 

Loeb won the NCAA Women's Singles Tennis National Championship during her time at the University of North Carolina. She was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. She recently announced she was turning pro.

The tennis star grew up playing at Ryder Park and was on the Ossining High School tennis team.
