The team members appeared at the North Castle Town Board's June 24 meeting and were introduced as part of a segment that Supervisor Michael Schiliro calls "celebrate the good," where he highlights community members.

“What these boys have accomplished is just something terrific,” Schiliro said.

The praise for the team came just days after a parade and rally were held in downtown Armonk, which was heavily attended.

The supervisor also discussed how float space for the parade was quickly assembled just a few hours before the event's start.

Councilman Guy Mezzancello noted his role as commissioner of the Armonk Baseball League (ABL), which was when several current Byram Hills players participated as kids.

During the previous rally, Mezzancello proposed adding a sign noting the team's championship victory at the entrance to downtown Armonk that includes the eagle sculpture. Schiliro, at the meeting, expressed support for the idea.

Coach Scott Saunders thanked people in the community for their support and praised his players.

“They deserve every honor they get. They really, really are fantastic young men.”

Thomas Gagliardi, a member of the championship team, thanked the board for its support and noted examples of several members' volunteer involvement with local sports.
