ARMONK, N.Y. There were four lead changes and two ties in the Ossining vs. Byram Hills baseball game Thursday night but the Pride ultimately pulled away for a 6-4 win.
Byram Hills opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when Andrew Slosberg scored on an error by Derek Badger. Ossinings Rashawn Armstrong singled to drive in Josh Almodovar and Mike Haag in the top of the fifth inning to give the Pride the lead.
Alex Varnhagen tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single that drove in Anthony Arditi. Chris Lattarulo led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a home run to reclaim the lead for the Bobcats.
But Ossining scored four times in the top of the seventh inning to retake the lead and then create some breathing room. Zack Giusti singled to drive in James Laitman for the first run, and Ronald Del Cid scored on a wild pitch two batters later. Giusti and Badger then scored on an error by Varnhagen.
Jack Hatheway hit a sacrifice fly to score Brian Skelly in the bottom of the seventh, but that was the only run Byram Hills could muster in the final frame.
Haag went 2-for-2 with two walks for Ossining, while Armstrong led all hitters with two RBI. Hatheway, Lattarulo and Varnhagen each had an RBI for the Bobcats.
