The Bobcats are 11-1 this season, with the lone loss against Linden High School (New Jersey). The trio of Jeff Lynch, Ryan Golden and sophomore big man Andrew Groll has given the Bobcats plenty to be excited about this year.

After missing much of last season with a foot injury, Lynch has come back strong in his senior year to lead Byram Hills. Lynch has consistently scored in double figures this season, but his experience is his most valuable asset. He led the Bobcats to the Class A championship in his sophomore year and seems poised to make another run at it this year.

But he hasn’t done it without help. Golden has been a force on the boards to go along with his consistent scoring. The guard/forward typically chips in more than 10 points per game.

Groll’s emergence has been key for Byram Hills this year. The 6 foot 7 inch forward has been a force in the paint all season long and has put up double-double after double-double. When Lynch sat out against Port Chester High School in mid-January, Groll took over and grabbed 22 rebounds in a 44-39 win.

The Bobcats are extremely difficult to stop when each of the three core players are healthy and in the game. The scare against Port Chester showed that Byram Hills is not invincible, but the consistency and leadership on the roster make the Bobcats a solid favorite in Class A.

But Pleasantville has some firepower of its own despite three straight losses. Jack Eisenberg has led the team in scoring this season. Even in a blowout 71-49 loss to Briarcliff High School on Dec. 21, he scored a game-high 27 points.

Byram Hills will need to slow Eisenberg down on Friday and maintain its usual consistency to earn the win.
