The team, which plays in the Eighth-Grade B division of the Tri-County Basketball League, finished the regular season at 14-0. Playoff games begin on March 1 with the semifinals taking place at the College of New Rochelle.

Coach Lou Angiolillo has been coaching this team for the last three years. He said this season the team has started clicking.

"We're doing the little things very well," Angiolillo said. "There's been a significant improvement from our bench players and starters."

The team prides itself on its man-to-man defense and Angiolillo credits much of the program to Marshall Reiff, who helped build the program. Carlo Di Cristofaro is the program director.

"There is no one better than them," Angiolillo said.

Angiolillo credits the Bobcats success to those two men. The Byram Hills High School varsity basketball team has made it to the Westchester County Center four out of the last five years.

"I am very fortunate to teach and coach basketball with them" Angiolillo said.

The Bobcats were so successful this season that Angiolillo almost wanted to lose so they could learn some lessons.

"There were games where we came from behind where we didn't play well," Angiolillo said. "They really showed perseverance. They never doubted themselves. They never gave up, they never whined, they never complained."

Angiolillo said his players worked hard and listened and the parents were very supportive.

"It makes for a good match," Angiolillo said. "I'm looking forward to the playoffs."

Working as a teacher in the Mount Vernon School District, Angiolillo said he loves getting to touch the lives of children everyday.

"I don't make a lot," Angiolillo said. "But in my heart, I'm a millionaire. It's very enjoyable for me."

In the playoffs, Angiolillo knows the margin of error is slim for the Bobcats.

"We have to step up and score better," Angiolillo said. "We need to tighten up on defense and get to the basket. That will be the difference."
