ARMONK, N.Y. -- Six Byram Hills High School students were selected recently to perform in various national and state competitions.
Senior Max Levy earned a spot in the 2013 All-National Honor Chorus. He will sing with a chorus of 350 vocalists at a concert in Nashville, Tenn. on Oct. 30.
Five other students were chosen to perform with All-State ensembles organized by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA): Eden Gordon, Thomas Kelly and William Benish were selected for the Mixed Chorus; Nicole Weisner will sing in the Women's Chorus; and Zachary Berro will play clarinet in the Symphonic Band.
“We take great pride in our musical ensembles,” Byram Hills Principal Chris Borsari said in a statement. “It’s always gratifying to see outside adjudicators be as impressed with our students’ musical talents as we are.”
The all-state musicians, selected based on their performances at NYSSMA solo and ensemble festivals, will play in concerts in December at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, N.Y.
