ARMONK, N.Y. Two Byram Hills School District principals will undergo annual performance reviews in association with new state guidelines.
At Tuesday night's Byram Hills School District Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Jackie Taylor described the performance reviews she will oversee for Evan Powderly, principal at H.C. Crittenden Middle School, and Debra Cagliostro, principal of the Wampus School.
Taylor said based on New York State performance reviews, she will rate the principals on a group of domains including a safe, efficient, effective learning environment and integrity, fairness and ethics.
The principals will also participate in a local assessment segment in which they will analyze the performance of a group of students, according to state guidelines.
Taylor will rank the principals from ineffective to highly effective and compile a composite score.
"The review will determine whether we encourage their high performance or see how we can continue to improve," she said.
