NEW YORK -- Area high school students will take to the stage this week to present their newly developed mobile apps created via the AT&T Mobile Universe Journey at Pace's Manhattan campus.

High school students from across the five boroughs have been a part of Pace University’s STEM Collaboratory Camp, a collaboration of Pace, AT&T and the Billion Oyster Project . The program includes future programmers, developers, gamers, artists, designers, architects, environmentalists, engineers, and other students who are simply looking to explore new territory. The two-week non-residential program will conclude on Friday with a luncheon and capstone presentations.

The keynote speaker at the event will be Jessica S. Tisch, NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Information Technology. Special guests include Elizabeth Segal, Executive Director, AT&T NYC External Affairs, Brook Gesser, Senior Advisor to U.S. Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand, and Diana Murakhovskaya, Co-Founder, Monarq.

Participants tackled app development, design thinking, and data analytics for the Billion Oyster Project employing project-based learning methodology. During the camp, students were guided through the app development process in the AT&T Mobile Universe Journey while working with faculty from Pace, NYC Design Factory and college-level mentors. Students also participated in events with government officials, civil engineers, and environmentalists, in addition to site visits to Google, BuzzFeed, AppFigures and the Museum of Natural History.

The presentation will take place on Friday, July 29, at One Pace Plaza in the Aniello Bianco Room on New York City campus from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
