Cuomo Increases SUNY Employees' Minimum Wage To $15 Per Hour

Cuomo announced the plan Monday that will affect around 30,000 employees across the state university network, and the increase will be approved by the SUNY board of trustees, said the Journal report.

Cuomo wants a minimum wage to be $15 statewide, according to the Journal.

Cuomo set a $15 an hour wage for state employees that will apply to 10,000 workers by 2018 in New York City and by 2021 across New York state. Additionally, he set the $15 minimum wage for workers in the fast-food industry, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
