The gathering, which is set to start at 7:30 p.m., is part of a series called "Reclaiming Public Education." The series is being promoted by the group New York State Allies for Public Education.
The group calls itself "a network of organizations who support public education and oppose the current excessive testing mandates and collection of private student data."
Guest speakers include Lisa Rudley, a co-founder of the group, and Kenneth Mitchell, a former superintendent of the South Orangetown Central School District in Rockland County and former president of the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents.
