ARMONK, N.Y. – The Byram Hills school district inducted its latest group of students and faculty into the Byram Hills High School Cum Laude Society this week.
The prestigious society, which honors high scholastic achievement in secondary schools, recognized two longtime faculty members in addition to 21 student inductees during a ceremony at the high school.
While parents snapped photos and applauded the inductees’ accomplishments, Principal Chris Borsari, along with last year’s faculty inductees, offered the following advice to those being honored: “Follow your dreams. Take chances. And, don’t sweat the little things.”
"Each of the 21 of you epitomizes the well-rounded student," said Kristin Budden, a special education teacher and 2011 inductee. "I implore you to keep in mind the big picture."
This year's Cum Laude Society student class consists of Joshua Altman, Rose Arditi, Rebecca Barnett, Zachary Blum, Jonathan Bricker, Ferdinand Chan, Jennifer Gold, Emma Goodman, Matthew Jaslove, Angel Jiang, Andrew Kim, Ava Kingsley, Allison Kitain, Rachel Levene, Diandra Liso, Lance Mack, Alyssa Ponzo, Natalie Pudalov, Brooke Robbins, Brett Roston and Brenda Stern.
Mathematics teacher Michaele Delamonico and H. Evan Powderly, the principal of H.C. Crittenden Middle School, were the faculty inductees.
