Armonk High School Competes in Science Olympiad

ARMONK, N.Y. – Byram Hills High School came in seventh place out of 33 schools in the Science Olympiad held at Armonk's Byram Hills Saturday.

“They did very well, but it’s a younger team without the experience of the previous teams that finished a little higher,” said Evan Horowitz, the honors chemistry teacher who coached the team.

Fifteen Byram Hills students participated in 23 events. More than 700 students from the 33 schools participated, with some of the events open to the public.

Matt Hadiono and Sydney Gordon came in fourth place for Disease Detectives.

Cassandra Vitacco and Eric Appel came in fifth place for Tower.

Jon Bricker and Sydney Gordon came in sixth place for Anatomy and Physiology.

Sydney Gordon and Jacob Stillman came in sixth place for Forensics.

Scarsdale High School came in first place in the Science Olympiad, Ardsley High School finished second and Pelham Memorial High School was third.
