Spotlight Shines On Purchase In New York Times Story

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- The New York Times has shined a light on Purchase, highlighting it as a "celebrity sanctum with wide open spaces" yet with close proximity to highways, trains, and the airport.

Purchase is a hamlet in the town of Harrison, with 5,400 residents. It is home to SUNY Purchase and Manhattanville College and is where MasterCard and PepsiCo are headquartered.

The housing stock of Purchase features English Tudors, French manor houses, and American center-hall colonials and raised ranches according to the Times. Most of the homes in Purchase were built in the last 50 to 60 years.

Homes in Purchase currently for sale range from $849,000 to $10.95 million, according to Zillow. There are 57 homes currently on the market.
