Dominic Tesauro, 82, Norwalk Korean War Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. – Dominic Joseph Tesauro, a former longtime Norwalk resident, died Aug. 24 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was 82. 

Most recently of Colchester, Conn., he was married to Lorraine Dupuis Tesauro, who survives him. 

Tesauro was born March 1, 1930, in Stamford to Pasquale and Vincenza Fiore Tesauro. He graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. Tesauro was retired from the Norwalk branch of the U.S. Postal Service.  

In his retirement, he worked in the mail rooms of Save the Children Federation and R.T. Vanderbilt. He also worked as a security guard at the Rowayton train station. Tesauro was a past chancellor of the Knights of Columbus Council 46 and a former commander of the Catholic War Veterans in Norwalk. 

In addition to his wife, Tesauro is survived by three children, Sharon (Arthur) Falcone, of Salem, Conn., Glen (Roselyn) Tesauro, of Norwalk and Patricia Ruggiero, of Norwalk; three siblings, Anthony Tesauro, of Naples, Fla., John Tesauro, of Colchester and Anne Mantia, of Westport; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery.
