Armonk's French Country Home Features 16th-Century Style

ARMONK, N.Y. -- French Country homes encompass elements of 16th and 17th-century castles in Europe. The unique architecture is still featured in some of today's homes, including a new listing in Armonk.

As its name suggests, French Country style was born from the hills and valleys of rural France. These homes often feature oversized chimneys, tall, pitched roofs and stone or brick siding. French Country invokes a sturdy, old-world elegance. "French Country is all about detail," said Barry Graziano, listing agent for Houlihan Lawrence. "Every square foot has been carefully thought out."

25 Carolyn Place is a French Country that includes five bedrooms, five bathrooms and 5,000 sq. ft. of living space. The home's open layout is typical of a French Country and integrates the interior and exterior spaces of the house. "The open design of this home makes it very easy to bring in a lot of natural light," said Graziano.

Featuring plenty of room for entertaining guests, 25 Carolyn Place is inviting, both inside and out. The home's foyer welcomes guests into the expansive living room and includes eight French doors that open to Juliet balconies and a stone patio. The spacious cook's kitchen has an oversized island, plenty of storage and a door leading to the yard.

The home's property sits on over two acres, overlooking wooded Armonk. While located in a private neighborhood, the home is just minutes away from schools and shopping. "The home is in a great location and while this home looks older, it's actually a fairly new build and has everything needed for modern living," said Graziano. "The home was made for luxurious living."
