The two candidates up for the Republican nomination are 2010 Congressional GOP candidate Jim Russell and current Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin.

Carvin, a native of Port Chester, currently is a hedge fund manager at Altima Partners and has served as supervisor of the Town of Rye since 2008. Carvin has won the endorsement of many Republican leaders, including GOP Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, GOP Senate candidate Bob Turner and both the Rockland County and Westchester County Republican parties.

Russell, of Hawthorne, previously sought the Republican nomination for the Congressional seat multiple times. In his most recent 2010 campaign, Russell saw support from the Republican Party pulled out from underneath him in September after what the party believed to be racist excerpts from a 2001 essay Russell published in "The Occidental Quarterly" surfaced.

Professionally, Russell has worked as a computer programmer for AT&T. Russell also has a background in historical theology and has taught theology at St. Peter's College.

CARVIN CLAMS UP ON OBAMA VOTE, TAX QUESTIONS AT PATAKI PRESSER; CAMPAIGN MGR REPEATS SAME PHRASE 30X IN :60 SECS

Every Politician should be carefully monitored here in Westchester and every expenditure should be monitored very closely to avoid misuse of tax payers hard earned money.

There is a good reason why Westchester County is the highest taxed in the world. The simple answer is because of CORRUPTION and misuse of power, misuse of tax payers funds, out of control spending, over-lapping of services, no bid contracts where certain politicians are getting kicvkbacks on our money. We have politicians in office way to long. We need short term limits in order to stop corruption. We need careful monitoring of where, and how are tax dollars are spent.

Politicians need to be held to a much higher standard then we have in place now. We give politicians slaps on the wrist for crimes against the people who voted them into office.
We need to set an example of all corrupt politicians ensread of the slap on the wrist and sentenced to some country club for 10 months. Its a big joke and a complete insult to the american people and to our so called justice system that is way out of wack.

@ taxed, the crooks are everywhere my friend. every single town and branch of government. I"m starting to think you have to be a crook to even run. we have the highest tax rates IN THE WORLD here in westchester, yet no one realizes it, or they just think we are supposed to pay these ridiculous rates.

GreenburghDad: You maybe right but the thing is no ones stands up and fights these corrupt
Politicians who are driving people out of Westchester County each year.
In the town of Somers, a former topwn board member was quoted as saying that:
" The Town is Run Like A Mafia".

That town board member could not take it anymore because of the corruption within that town and said that: " The town Supervisor is a LIAR, and should have never been put in any position of trust".

The town has tried everything to cover-up everything, including having personal ties with certain newspapers who have been doing political favors to keep the bad news out of the papers.

taxed:

Someone get these crooks out of Somers and take MB Shennagan Murphy with them. Where is her broomstick? Talk about letting the fox in the henhouse? Us taxpayers have been getting looted by MB and her political machine for over a decade. Can we please get just a few honest people to run Somers? We will see if we can get the attorney generals office involved shortly.

Well I don’t know Russell from Smussell but Carvin is from here in Rye.

And here in Rye we have an active skeptical transparency loving digital news operation called LausDeo10580. The 10580 part is Rye City’s zip code. As for the Latin, well, you can look it up.

So here are 48 hours worth of headlines and videos just out on Mr. Carvin that voters might want to contemplate.
