North Castle Candidates Hold Onto Party Lines

ARMONK, N.Y.-- Two separate state Supreme Court rulings have allowed two Democratic and two Republican candidates to remain on the ballot for the September primary for North Castle Town Board, according to theexaminer.com.

Republican candidates John Cronin and Diane DiDonato-Roth were not endorsed by the local GOP, however state Supreme Court Judge Robert DiBella ruled that their petitions were valid. The petitions were under dispute because some dates were changed by hand from 2010 to 2013.

Judge Joan Lefkowitz denied a request from Democrat Anthony Futia, who challenged the petitions of the two town Democratic Party-endorsed town board candidates Jose Berra and Barry Reiter, on the grounds that town Democrats were unaware both candidates did not carry party affiliation. 

The primary election will take place on Sept. 10.
