WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Democrats, especially those closely aligned with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, have joined him in his criticism of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, according to The New York Times.
The mayor recently blasted Cuomo, saying the governor ruled through "vengeance and fear." Democrats have criticized Cuomo for the inability to pass a higher minimum wage and inadequate ethics reform, The Times reported.
The dissent has reached a point where some downstate Democrats are even talking about an open competition for the Democratic nomination in 2018, The Times said.
